Mindful Reading on Non-Electronic Devices

Welcome to Week 11 of the new year! It’s that time again when we set new resolutions, aiming to soak in the experiences and joys of each passing week. This week’s challenge is all about slowing down and reconnecting with the simple pleasure of reading.

This week, I challenge you to dedicate a minimum of five minutes each day to reading on a non-electronic device. Yes, that means no screens! Grab a magazine, a cookbook, a novel, or even an instruction manual—whatever you have on hand that grabs your interest. The goal here is to step away from our tech-driven lives, even just for a short while, and immerse ourselves in the written word.

To make the most of this challenge, set a timer for five minutes, but here’s a little tip: keep the clock within arm’s reach. That way, if you find yourself deeply engrossed in a story or discovering fascinating tips in a manual, you can easily turn it off and continue reading beyond the timer.

So, my family and friends, let’s embrace this opportunity to read that manual you’ve been meaning to dive into—perhaps the instructions for your air fryer or your camera. Or maybe there’s a novel sitting in your nightstand drawer, collecting dust for the past year. If you’re feeling adventurous, why not splurge on a magazine or two? Use those as your reading stash for the entire week!

Happy reading!
