Week 9 of Our 52-Week Family Challenge: Modified Burpees!

Hello, wonderful families!

We’re excited to share that we’ve reached Week 9 of our 52-week family challenge! This week, we’ve decided to tackle the modified burpee. Now, some of you might be burpee enthusiasts who want to jump right in with the traditional version, and that’s absolutely great! However, we’re opting for a fun and simplified twist that everyone can enjoy together.

For our modified burpee, we crouch down, spring up, and extend our arms high above our heads as we jump! We do this 10 times, and it takes around 3 minutes total. It’s all about celebrating the joy of movement—so if you want to tweak it even further, you can focus on any hop or jump that feels good for you! The goal is to have fun and get your lymph, circulation, and heart pumping.

Reflecting on our week, it’s been such a pleasure to see how much energy this challenge brings to our family. The kids absolutely love it and look forward to these energetic moments together. Dad has embraced the challenge, taking it as an opportunity to stretch out and test the limits of how high he can leap into the air!

As for me, I’ll admit that some days start off with a bit of hidden emotional reluctance. But every time we finish our challenge, I’m amazed at how much more energy I have and how focused I feel. It’s a perfect reminder of how pushing ourselves just a little can lead to great rewards.
