Week 29 Challenge: Play The Thank You Game Every Single Day
Welcome to Week 29 of 2025! This week’s challenge is simple—but powerful. If you’ve been with us for a while, then you already know and love The Thank You Game. It’s one of the first free games I shared under the Games section at Here They Grow—and it’s become a cherished tradition in many of our homes.
But this week?
We’re going deeper.
We’re not just pulling out the game once in a while.
We’re playing it every single day.
🎲 What Is The Thank You Game?

The Thank You Game is one of our easiest and most impactful family connection tools. The rules are simple:
- Gather your family together—during dinner, in the car, or before bed.
- One person starts by thanking each family member individually for something specific they did recently.
“Claire, thank you for being patient while I finished my work call.”
“Peter, thank you for feeding the dog without being asked.”
“Dad, thank you for taking care of the chickens.”
“Mom, thank you for the pancakes this morning—they were my favorite.”
- Then the next person takes their turn, thanking everyone else.
- Go around until everyone has given and received gratitude from each other.

🗓️ This Week’s Challenge: Make It Daily
We already love this game. It’s a go-to in our family. But this week, we’re making it a daily practice.
Pick your time: dinner, bedtime, breakfast—whatever fits.
Keep it light and loving—three quick thank-yous per person is enough.
Use prompts if someone gets stuck:
“What’s something someone did today that helped you?”
“Who made you feel good today—and how?”
The goal is simple:
💛 To notice each other.
💛 To speak with gratitude.
💛 To feel more connected—every day.
🌿 Why It Matters
When we pause to thank each other regularly, something powerful happens. Tensions soften. Smiles appear. Kids feel seen. Parents feel appreciated. And everyone walks away a little lighter.
The Thank You Game helps build:
Emotional awareness
Respectful communication
A home culture of kindness and intentionality
And best of all? It takes less than 10 minutes.
