A New Chapter in Our ‘Little House on the Prairie’

My dearest children and readers at large,

I’m writing this letter as we prepare to leave our current home and move into a new one. I know there are aspects of our current home that we will miss, but I want to explain why we’re making this decision. Although we’ve talked about it openly with you, years from now, you’ll have this letter to remember some of the nuances.

We’re moving to a rustic cabin, a place that will allow us to live more simply and focus on what truly matters: our family, our faith, and our connection with nature. I’m calling it our “little house on the prairie,” and that speaks to you because you’ve watched many episodes with mom and dad and with grandma.

This new home will allow us to build our forever family homestead, where we can create lifelong memories and make our dreams come true. It’s my dream that the home we build will stay in our family for generations to come.

We’ll continue to live the little house lifestyle we love, with our animals, garden, and the freedom to explore and adventure.

You’re both so wise and cool, so while I know deep down it’s hard for all of us to say goodbye to our current home, we’re all doing okay with the change. I think this is because Mom, Dad, and Grandma have openly communicated our thoughts and feelings with you and always include you in our conversations. Far be it from me to shuffle you off for adult conversation. I want you forever involved and engaged, my loves.

I promise this new chapter will bring us joy, laughter, and a deeper connection with each other and the world around us. I’m increasingly becoming excited to live our “little house on the prairie” lifestyle, when we’re not kicking it at the finest places we can find, that is!

Remember, home is where the heart is, and our heart is with each other. I love you all so much, and I can’t wait to see what this new journey brings us.
